This album is another experiment with music, vocals and mastering in as raw a process as possible. I hope there is imperfection but respect in each recording. We travel across the classic and contemporary Broadway/WestEnd. Probably the most important factor is the collection of disparate and troubled characters.

As with all my album releases I feel that songs should be sung in a free and human way. There can be no Art in perfection. Life is a challenge and this is exactly the point; the beauty of a bed of roses comes with the thorns. In these songs we have a subconscious analysis of these men. Does this mean there is a version of each of these characters within me? Likely so. Do I have the imagination and wanderlust of Don Quixote, yes. The anger of Burrs, yes. For all actors and singers hold up a mirror to life, to themselves. But the mirror is always fractured.

I would like to give special thanks to Deryn Cullen once again bringing her superb musical skills to the fore creating an orchestra with one cello. Thank you also to the various publishers and composers who gave their permission to record these songs and to the fantastic artwork of James Olley.

Sincere Thanks to You, the Listener, I am very grateful to you, wherever you may be and I hope these songs, this music, takes you away from any troubles...
